A Colorado company said it created 4,231 jobs with the help of President Barack Obama's economic recovery plan. The real number: fewer than 1,000.Read the whole report here. The AP found that the original 30,000 jobs figure was inflated by as much as 5,000 jobs.
A child care center in Florida said it saved 129 jobs with the help of stimulus money. Instead, it gave pay raises to its existing employees.
Elsewhere in the U.S., some jobs credited to the stimulus program were counted two, three, four or even more times.
The government has overstated by thousands the number of jobs it has created or saved with federal contracts under the president's $787 billion recovery program, according to an Associated Press review of data released in the program's first progress report.
The discrepancy raises questions about the reliability of a key benchmark the administration uses to gauge the success of the stimulus. The errors could be magnified Friday when a much larger round of reports is released. It is expected to show hundreds of thousands of jobs repairing public housing, building schools, repaving highways and keeping teachers on local payrolls.

Their already passed stimulus bill has some scary features in it. The states' governors need to buck on them and say we will not participate and our reps need to get some guts to stand up to them OR lose their jobs- Dems and Repubs.

The Kamaaina Tea party members here in Hawaii are livid over the overt propaganda labeling the Tea Party as a racist group. Our group here consists of Hawaiians, Japanese, Haoles, and other groups of Americans who are concerned about the losses of our individual freedoms to the federal government; the bankrupting of our economy; the open rebellion against the Constitution of the United States; the stealing of our state sovereignty and the rights of the people as outlined in our Bill of Rights.
The deceitfulness of those who would foist Obama’s statist policies through fraud within the media is nothing short of an outrage. We here in Hawaii network with the mainland Tea Parties and find that their concerns are as ours outlined above which have nothing to do with racism. There is not one single sound bite of single Tea Partier using racist epithets, not one! Had there been such a sound bite, we would have never heard the end of it in the media which is why the media must use here say to forward their unfounded claims.
If there is anything that would fan the flames of anger, it would be these strawman characterizations which are being made by the media. We here in Hawaii are realizing that we will be smeared in every way by these soviet methods of scandalous reporting which there is no defence other than to always speak the truth every time.
