In our fight for a real American energy policy, there are two big fronts right now.
One was revealed last week when the U.S. House passed the National Energy Tax. This vote was a clear sign of how far our opposition will go in trying to restrict and drive up the cost of American energy.
The second front is one we're very familiar with, especially after last summer's "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" campaign, and that is the effort to find and develop more American oil and natural gas.
This Tele-Townhall is especially timely because July 14 will mark the one year anniversary of President Bush lifting the executive ban on offshore drilling. Since the Obama administration has only taken us backwards since then, this is the time to re-launch our "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" campaign, and we want to talk with you specifically about how you can help in a simple way.
We have some serious work to do on energy, but we can succeed if we work together.

I do hope Mr. Gingrich will run for President on 2012. I've just about lost all faith in the Republican party. They have been progressives just like the Democrats for some time now. Last election we had a black Democrat and a white Democrat running for the office. There was no difference at all.

I think the battle cry for 2012 should be patriotism and I think Republicans need a canidate who can articulate what Jefferson wrote in the Declaration of Independence -someone who can light a fire against an oppressive government - someone who can rally the people and reinstill in them the pride and honor it is to be an American. The campaign should start in Boston with a tea party then move to Philadelphia where everyone could sign a replica of the Declaration as a show of support and solidarity for freedom. Newt, you are a student of history, you are articulate, you did it once before with the Contract with America - you can do it again with the reaffirmation our Declaration of Independence from tyranny and oppresion. Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.
You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash.
The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.
The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party.
She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red .
If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ .
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.
Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.
Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.
They, and they alone, have the power.
They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.
Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

It is unfortunate that we spend our time with failed practices while failing ourselves to remember how we got to where we are today. The tap root of this economic peril in in FDR's policies and practices. Please take some time to read and understand it's depth and how subsequent administrations have perpetuated and interrupted the 'killing' of this republic. If you aren't a person who is interested in solving the problem then you are a person who is interested in perpetuating the woes because woeful circumstances aid your position for tyranny. It is the Alinsky methodology of marginalizing those who would speak the truth. Take a real hard look at those who do not create wealth but glean wealth for themselves - the bankers those who handle investments. Look at where their political campaign funds go (traditionally almost exclusively to the Demokrat party). Why is that? To shelter their shady deals and theft. The true captialists aren't the investment bankers who want big $$$ for touching your money; it is the everyday citizen who works hard for her or his retirement; those who believe in the freedom to choose and plan. the entrepreneur hires workers not the welfare recipient whose very existence depends on the those who work hard and pay taxes.
Pay attention America...the warning signs are everywhere. The hissing snakes of liberal mantras and the silvery rhetoric of its mouthpieces pollute the media and the airwaves. They are trying to soothe you into submission. They want you to be more patriotic and pay more and more until one day you live like all the enslaved of the communist world have lived.

I called all the Representatives' offices between June 24 and 25, 2009, trying to express my view that "cap and trade" legislation was a hidden tax and that it would cause the cost of utilities and goods/services to increase at a time when many citizens have reduced or stagnant income. Many lines were busy, however, and I did not get through. Some offices said that I had called the representative NOT of my state, to which I replied: "I pay federal income taxes, which pays this representative's salary and benefits, and this person passes legislation that affects my life; therefore I believe that he/she is working for me."
I have written emails, topic:"vote AGAINST 'cap and trade' hidden TAX" to all Democrat Senators. Now I will start on the Republicans.
I haven't checked as one commenter suggested, the voting record on the legislation. What is needed is a software system which tracks each member of Congress and their vote in a very organized manner. When re-election campaigns occur, facts will be available for all that can go to a region to help campaign against those who are interested in continuing to tax the people and throw away our tax money, while they themselves enjoy elitist benefits due to their Congressional office.(Let's mimic the ACORN formula, w/dignity: make a 'scene' re: voting records.)
It looks as though we need another party; Republicans strategists were so unaware of real world concerns of the average citizen and held to the same principles which helped the downfall of the U.S. economy.
We must get organized over some basic written principles which are presented to the public well before any Congressional elections. We must organize at the local,state level and then national level if we are to succeed.God help us save this country.
I think we need a new party. Forget the Republican Party. They have sold us out and are owned by Special Interest groups too. They are corrupt and are so involved in immoral activity that it is hard to tell the good guys from the bad guys anymore. I am anxious to see what Sarah Palin will do next. The only way we can take our country back is a grass roots effort to form a new party of people who love this country, do not want Government control and are ready to scrap the IRS, The Federal Reserve, the UN and get rid of all special interest groups. When we stop giving money to all these groups like Planned Parenthood we would be able to pay for the things Governement should be paying for and not taxing the American people to pay for abortions, etc.
Becoming energy independent and put more money into education could make the USA the most desirable education system in the world. Allow small business to prosper without all the red tape and Government control and I think Americans will rise to the occasion and become a fully functioning society able to take care of ourselves and our families without the Government controlling every aspect of our lives and charging us for the interference. Two comments:
1) Careful unbiased researchers almost all conclude there is no convincing evidence that anthropogenic CO2 is affecting climate. Most dramatic evidence is in the consistent observations that CO2 changes follow temperature changes. This being the case, the major premise for the energy tax is at best an assumption without scientific proof.
2) Without subsidies neither PVCs or wind farms can compete (cost-wise) with conventional power plants. Even with subsidies the footprint for wind farms, or for photovoltaic arrays, to match the capacity of a typical fossil or nuclear plant is simply overwhelming and not practical. (Parenthetical both solar and wind sources are intermittent, so with current technologies they still have to call for conventional sources of power to fill in the blanks...)
Just what I have been saying. I get so upset when I hear Nancy and the rest of the bloated politicians pointing fingers at wall street and banks, etc. when the blueprints for what happened were laid out in Washington.
I strongly dissagree with passing the energy tax. These times are difficult to make ends meet without raising the cost of our energy. I wrote to my 2 Senators for the state of Arkansas, Senator Mark Pryor (Democrat), and Senator Blanche Lincoln (Democrat), and shared my thoughts. Senator Mark Pryor answered back and said that he backed the energy bill, and gave numerous reasons why. Senator Blanche Lincoln did not reply, but she is on a state wide tour of Arkansas, and has been backing the bill also!
This is going to be a huge fight to oppose this bill in the Senate, so we all need to get on the phone and put pressure on these and others Senators to oppose this bill, and stop sitting on the fence as most Americans do and think that one person's opinion will not make a difference! One person can make a difference as long as we all feel that way, and act now!
next time try calling their local offices in your state and they can relay your requests and tell you how your representatives are voting. Each of my representatives have several offices around the state so it was easy to get through. It was next to impossible to call the D.C. number on the day of voting. I tried. Luckily I live in Idaho, one of the tried and true red states in the union.

When the ranking minority member of the banking committee, Sen. Shelby said this month to Greta Van Susteren, that they need to figure out what caused the housing and economic crash before they try to fix it, It was further confirmation that they are all in on it.

This 70 year old Senior on a fixed income can't afford heat in the winter if this passes. Last winter was tough here in TN. Thank goodness I don't live in Montana or Michigan. You know with Cap and Trade we won't be allowed to use wood stoves or fireplaces because of the smoke. Maybe Obama should just shoot old people who tend to need a little more heat during long winters. I researched Solar and no one I know will be able to afford to retrofit their homes and most of the parts are made in Indonesia and India. How could that create American jobs? There is no question that we need to develop alternate energy sources, but a tax on conventional energy usage is not the solution. Give tax incentives for R & D on alternate fuels, but it may take 30 years for alternate fuels to become economically competitive. In the meantime we have an abundant supply of clean burning natural gas, that could power our automobiles. This would not only help our unemployment problems but also reduce our dependence on foreign oil. CNG powered vehicles is a proven technology. All that is needed is a little refinement, and cooperation from Detroit.
My husband and I have been convinced for the past year that we need a new party that will actually function as a conservative, Constitutionally faithful, party. It should be a party that refuses to compromise with pork, bribes, political favor, etc. We were Republican, but no longer. We are currently Independent, but are open to a new party that will uphold the ideals of a Christian Constitutional Republic.
We also need to begin to take measures to insure that voting can be trusted to be truly accurate and honest. Last year we did not have a clean election. Our candidates were not vetted as demanded by our Constitution. Our votes were dishonored by cheating at high levels as well as at the grassroots level. Our President is most probably not truly eligible for the position in which he is functioning.
We need to also make sure that if we have media outlets that are skewed toward a particular viewpoint, that we have more media outlets that can counteract that viewpoint and inform the people. Many people do not have access to cable or satellite, and are in the dark about other views.

As a retired New York Police Officer 1955/1975 ,and as an Registerd Nurse 1978/1991 I lived,and observed, the start of the mess where in today.The riots and numerous assassinations of public figures, including President Kennedy caused fear in New York society. This led to a form of pananioa by the liberal community. Because of the neccessary action of the Police we were compared with the German storm Troopers of WW2 this caused the liberal fear to worsen. As history tells us To start a revolution,you begin by destroying the Police which actually happened.
With health care In 1978 I witnessed the start of malpractise by frightened doctors who gave every kind of test to patients weather they needed or not.So from this waste of money ,and the rise of Insurance premiems down went the Health care system. Worse of all were the doctors who practised defensive medicine causing lack of skilled patient care.
Out Country produces very little anymore outside of the Auto Industry which is now being taking over by the most wasteful and enept orginazation knows to man.. the United States Government..
We have an abundance of natural resources such as Oil Natural Gas and Coal.. Iron ore and Gold. yet this administration would rather restrict all forms of development and business with Taxes and regulations. We are in a very serious and dangerous time with an administration and both houses ready to take America on a path to a future no American will want for themselves, their children or their heirs. We cannot depend on just the conservatives and certainly not the established elected and most party republicans and democrats now in office at all levels. We must begin today finding candidates that understand that government's existence is only to serve the governed. Not the other way around. It must come from all legal citizens to find and elect new office holders under the threat that they will be replaced if they fail to serve the American public under the rights and privileges of the Constitution. These men and women in office now having been seduced as they passed through the Potomac Mist, are slaves to the special privileges of office they themselves have provided to themselves that the every day citizen does not enjoy. It is up to every one of us to join in a revolution and grass roots revolt at the ballot box.
I do not understand why we have not converted automobiles to run on natural gas. We have more of it than we know what to do with. Estimates are that it would cover about 97% of our needs and we could then supply enough gas/diesel from domestic sources to cover the rest. Estimates are that natural gas would cover our needs for as long as 200 years while not generating smog. What is wrong with elected officials? They spend countless time and money chasing windmills--ethanol, electric, solar, wind. The solution is natural gas and nuclear powerplants.
Marie: This cap bill and the health bill is just a quit way to get rid of the elderly. Will not be able to pay our energy bill and you will be denied health care because of your age. I agree with several others I am tired of the Rep. and Dem. We need some leaders that will stand up and be counted.
The oil embargo in the fall of 1973 was a great warming to the United States that it needed to change the ways it procured and used energy. Back then we imported 40 percent of our oil at a cost of about $25 billion per year. Thirty six years later we import two-thirds of our oil at a cost in 2008 of $450 billion.
The governments of both parties debated the problem and came up with solutions of allowing right turns on a red light after stopping and adding four more weeks to day-light savings time. Increasing efficiencies of appliances and cars were big helps that businesses would have done on their own.
An obvious solution to the oil embargo was eliminating the use of oil for electric power generation and residential and commercial heating. Further reductions in oil use could have been achieved by using natural gas for transportation when practical. Electric power should have gradualy been used to replace diesel fuel for rail transportation. Plug-in hybrid cars should gradualy be introduced to cut down oil consumption. Our vast oil reserves should have been exploited and today we should be importing oil soley from Canada and Mexico.
In 1977, our prospects for widespread use of nuclear power was dimmed because of an Executive Order prohibiting the reprocessing of nuclear fuels. This prohibited a practical means of storing nuclear wastes and recovering valuable uranium and plutonium left in spent nuclear fuel elements. The nuclear power industry needs to be revived in the United States as increase the role of electricity in our energy use.
There is not enough room in this note to give all details that proves carbon dioxide from fossil fuels has negligible influence on global warming. Let it suffice that climate scientists that once thought global warming was caused by carbon dioxide are abandoning that position. The reverse is not happening. In a decade or two only Al Gore and James Hansen will be left shouting their doomsday prophecies that will be laughed at in the next century.
In the 2008 presidential election I thought the Republican Party could exploit the Democrat Party's misguided belief that drilling for oil in Alaska and burning fossil fuels would have catastrophic environmental consquencesd. I tried to pass this information on to the McCain advisors. It was to no avail, as should be expected, because McCain and Obama were in agreement on both of these issues. Both parties put up candidates with no common sense and it probably was best for the nation that the Democrat fool won.
We now have the possiblity of an energy curtailment bill like Waxman-Markey will be passed by the Senate this fall. If this bill is implemented, our lifestyles will decline to levels before WWI. If all other nations adopt similar bills, then our relative ranking amoung nations may not fall very much because the whole world will revert back to poverty.

First I consider the cap and trade tax policy in violation of free trade. The cap and trade tax policy is for the economic control of our energy enterprise taking away competition and tainting it toward environmental activists attempt to destroy our freedom,and weaken our national security.
Our nation is not ready yet to scrap the existing energy service for the unknown future. Our nation today have the energy in natural gas, coal, and domestic crude to support the change to solar, wind, geothermal, nuclear, bio fuels, and more hydro power. We will need all of it to meet the need of our nation, as well as export to other nations. We need a natural gas pipeline from Alaska to the lower 48. We need natural gas pipelines to support off shore export of liquefied natural gas. The sooner we start building these pipelines the sooner our nation will put people back to work on these pipelines.
There is extensive geothermal exploration going on in Nevada.
Some folks who participate in this blog expressed a disillusion of faith in the republican party as out of touch: a political party is what you make it to effectively represent, Always this party has represented the civil rights and freedom of the people. To encourage national development with out government coercion. Environmentally friendly energy resources will be developed based on economic need rather than being tax policy driven.
We need the republican party to unit us and not divide us. We need to divide the democratic party between winners and losers of cap and trade.

Markey was also behind the hugely expensive and largely ineffective creation of airline security policies by the TSA due to security concerns which has resulted in multi-million dollars of airline expenses for the perception of safety by the flying public. Face it, if someone wants to cause harm, they will find a way to do it regardless. So, I'm not surprised this idiot is behind the energy curtailment bill. How I would love for someone, be it Republican, Democrat, Independent, or whatever, to emerge who truly loves our country and wants to govern for the people, not for special interest groups or to pad their own wallets. This is a subject near and dear to me (as it should be every American) because I have two dear friends who lost their jobs (but thank God were recently called back) because of that ignoramouses legislation some months ago. MANY people lost their jobs and I find it completely irresponsible and reprehensible that the liberal media refuses to report on how many jobs were lost - especially now . . . Not only that, but to be this reliant on foreign oil is completely absurd. Had those idiot democrats not interfered a decade ago . . . we'd be all that much closer to being independenct oil-wise. Ask anybody that purports to be anybody about CO2, and then ask them why, in ice-cores from the poles, CO2 concentrations were much higher during the last inter-galatial period. (The last Ice Age.) The same holds true for ancient sea-bed & lake-bed core samples. Given the fact that CO2 is a trace ATMOSPHERIC GAS, and NOT A POLLUTANT, why would we want to stifle a trace gas that makes plant-life, and human-life thrive?

As usual you’re on target regarding the House’s Energy Tax Bill. Nancy Pelosi stated repeatedly that it is a Jobs-jobs- Jobs-jobs bill; yet it acknowledges major job loses in the oil and coal industries as it includes billions of dollars in it to subsidize, for up to three years, those who lose their jobs.
The vast majority of Americans supported the "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" campaign last year to ensure we achieved energy independence/security. We can NOW, using our oil, coal and natural gas resources, revitalize the economy with new high salary jobs, lower oil/gas prices (here and abroad), and increase federal/state revenues (from more and higher wage earner taxpayers, and overseas energy sales). And by investing in renewable energy sources per the Republican American Energy Act we will assure secure energy sources now and for generations.
Today the stakes are higher: we must persuade the Administration and Congress of their moral obligation not to squander the nation’s wealth on ill conceived programs (hastily crafted to achieve political not national objectives), that will doom future generations to a financially and morally bankrupt country. We must alert fellow citizens of flawed legislation (by exposing Congress’ arrogant disdain of American citizens’ best interests, and their blatant suspension of proven legislative processes so as to pass unread and/or inadequately debated bills to meet arbitrary deadlines.)
To succeed we need a strategy that addresses the problems and informs our citizens of, (1) the reckless legislation being stampeded through Congress, and (2) the practices used by liberals to advance their agenda. I agree with Kathryn Piazza this will require an automated tracking system that includes Members’ of Congress votes, positions and gimmicks they supported. This information will facilitate intelligent recruiting and support of creditable candidates. The database will make members records more transparent and, I believe, of great value in ensuring fairer campaigns.

I am not a Democrat, Republican or any other political party member. I am not Black, White or Latino, I am not Asian or Arabic. I am , however, an American, and for many generations my ancestors have been American. I have always voted for the man I believed to be the best for the job regardless of party affiliation. I served in the Air Force and the Army National Guard. I served in the mid east as a Force Protection Officer. My father served in WW2 where he lost one arm and the fingers on his other hand. He was shot in the mouth and riddled with shrapnel from a grenade. My father and I both shed blood for our country as did many other family members. This holds true for many thousands of American families. Another thing that holds true for my family as well as thousands of other American families is the fact that we love our country and we are willing to die for it. We are willing to shed our blood for the freedom and liberty so many have died for. So that there is no misunderstanding I want you to know my priorities, they are God, Family and Country. I hope you, Reid, Pelosi, and Biden along with the rest of your administration notice that government is not included in my priorities. I value things like Honor, Duty, Loyalty and Morality, just as those like me do also, and there are millions of us, Black, White, Asian, Latino and Native American. I am telling you this so you can put into context what I write next.
Obama, you had in your hands the opportunity to be the greatest President America has ever known. You could have done great things and made an entire nation proud of their choice. It is hard to believe that you took the hope and trust of a nation and betrayed every man woman and child in it. I have no doubt that you are not an American citizen. You have dishonored and degraded our military men and women. You have abused our Constitution and called it flawed. You have deliberately bankrupted this nation while destroying business and millions of American jobs. You have lied over and over to the American people while you insulted some of our closest allies. You have been a friend to our enemies and an insult to our friends. You and those in your administration have made the office of president something to laugh at to the rest of the world. You have been the worst mistake the American people have ever made. You have failed miserably in record time. The American people are not fools as you believe them to be. We know the only reason this legislature lets you get away with it is the fact that most of them fear disclosure of things they have done while in office. You must know by now that the majority of Americans reject you and your policies. You have never known the hardships many Americans have known. You have never sacrificed as many Americans have. You have never done one thing to advance the lives of Americans. You spend your time and our money helping those who hate us. You aid our most dangerous enemies in acquiring nuclear status while you destroy our ability to provide the energy our nation so desperately needs . Obama you have proved you hate America and Americans. I suppose its because you were so spoiled by Americas generosity that put you through college on foreign student aid. In closing I have to recognize the liberals and progressives who depend on you. The liberals and progressives who have taken over the Democrat and Republican parties are the most vulgar, hate filled criminal element ever to walk the earth. I never thought Washington DC would become so disgusting, dishonorable, disloyal and untrustworthy. It is truly a sad day for all Americans, I hope the majority of you in this government now never get another vote, at least another honest vote. We all know ACORN will be steal and cheat as many votes as the billions of our dollars Obama gave them will supply. We can only hope the FBI still has Honor and Loyalty and will stop them.

I desperately need your help!
I am not a Democrat or a Republican. I belong to no political party. I belong to you, the American people all. I belong to all people who are willing to pay the price life demands for freedom. No government has ever made men free; government by its very nature seeks to destroy me and my brother, freedom.
I am LIBERTY and in America I am under attack. I am wounded and fear that I will soon perish at the hands of your United States government. You, the American people have always loved me and protected me throughout the world. Why do you abandon me now, have you lost your love of Freedom and Liberty? The reality that I am moved to write a letter with the following content reveals a truth all Americans are beginning to recognize. We are in the midst of an unraveling of the fabric that has bound us together for the past two hundred thirty three years. A fabric which supports the weight of all, we as a people, hold dear. Our Freedoms, Liberty, and Justice, just to name a few are all supported by and dependent upon the strength of this Red, White, and Blue fabric called the United States Constitution. Creating such a fabric required many different threads, each carefully selected for its ability to withstand time and stress while maintaining its strength, integrity and values. The threads had to be bound together tightly so that they could not be divided thus compromising the integrity of the fabric. Each thread of this fabric has a name, to mention a few, Honor, Duty, Loyalty, Morality, Strength, Honesty, Trust, and many more. All the threads in this fabric represent the greatest attributes of the human race, one race, with different shades of one color.
Prior to the 2008 election, the majority of citizens of the United States of America were well on their way to creating a new race, the American race. A new race of people with only one color, the American color, and only one name, American, not Asian American, or African American, simply American. A race bound together by their hopes and dreams and care for each other. The struggle for this dream took over two hundred years and millions of lives. It is disgraceful how the actions of those running for the honor of serving in public office have set this noble achievement back many years. I ask you men and women in the congress and the senate, as well as the men who ran for president, was it worth it? Was your ambition, your pride, your need to be famous or whatever self-serving goal you were seeking worth destroying what millions of Americans gave their lives for? Do not tell me you don’t know what I am talking about. Each of you knows very well that the despicable use of race in the 2008 election was obscene and you all share the responsibility for it. The 111th legislature, as well as the 2008 presidency, will be looked upon as the blackest days in American history thus far.
Though I have served my Country, and my family has sacrificed much for our way of life, I have failed to do my duty. I took an oath to protect the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. I was not diligent in the exercise of my duty to protect our Constitution from malignant growth known as government. Congressmen, Congresswomen, Senators and President, you represent that growth. It is your blind ambition and self interest you serve rather than the American people and the Constitution you swore to protect. The actions taken by this administration and legislature amount to a direct attack on the Constitution and the rights and freedoms it guarantees. You have forgotten that it is not your place or your right to tell the people what you are going to do. It is your duty and obligation to ask the people what they want! When I say, it is your duty to ask the people, I mean the majority, not the few that simply seek to be coddled, ask those who have made and make this nation successful. This government has made too many false assumptions with regard to the reason it was elected.
For too long I have lived under the misguided assumption that individuals elected to the highest offices in the land, individuals that took the same oath to the Constitution I did, would honor that oath. I believed that they could be trusted and things like Honor, Duty, Loyalty, and Morality were as important to them as they are to me. I made a serious error in judgment with regard to many of them. Many in the Senate and Congress do not have the capacity to possess such ideals. Just think, people who are supposed to be the guardians of our Constitution are trying to limit free speech, restrict the free exercise of religion, remove the right to own arms, just to mention a few of their attacks on the Constitution and the American people.
What person in their right mind has the audacity, the arrogance or the ignorance to expect people to apologize for the success of their nation? The only change we need now is to remove such ingrates from office. If our country is such a horrible place to live, why do so many around the world want to come here? Why does our government want to reward criminals and provide them free medical, subsistence and free education at the expense of those who can’t afford it for their own families? People who have entered this country illegally and laugh at our laws, many of whom commit crimes in our country, are given property and rights paid for by our citizens even when these same citizens cannot afford it for themselves. If these illegal aliens want to live in a country like the United States of America then they need only to go back to their own country and pay the price Americans here have paid and build another America, the world could certainly use more.
Americans owe the world nothing, nothing at all. This nation has always provided for the rest of the world freely and willingly. Our nation has fought and sacrificed more than any nation on earth for those in need around the world. Now some of you in Washington have the nerve to think we should apologize for our success. You are very much mistaken if you think this American feels apologetic, and don’t even think of apologizing for me!
Our nation’s success was purchased with the hard work, sweat, tears, suffering and blood of ordinary people who possessed extraordinary will, courage and values. I am proud of this nation because of citizens who were willing to share that success along with the blood of their sons and daughters with the world. I despise any individual calling for or making an apology for the sacrifice of my brothers and sisters in arms, be they living or dead, or any citizen of our great nation. Get it clearly embedded in your conscience that the United States has nothing to apologize for! Consider this, why don’t those of you in Washington that have degraded, insulted and slandered our country, its military and many of our citizens start correcting the disastrous course you have taken by making a long overdue apology to America and her allies. Speaking of apologies, the media, those in television mainly, have betrayed their profession, their country, and themselves. What is most discouraging about the media is the fact that they know very well they have lost all credibility and trust. Some journalists even admit that they don’t report news anymore, “we make the news” one of them stated. You won’t find any honor in this profession any more. And just think, I am just a simple person, a nobody to the new Washington and the media.
I have a great deal more to say, however, I am sure most congressmen and senators are far too superior to even acknowledge an average citizen much less read all this. To those in our government still holding to your beliefs and values, those who still honor the Constitution and believe in freedom over tyranny, I salute you, respect you, and I have your back so long as we stand. To the rest, look carefully in a mirror, you are just a person. There is nothing special about you. There are many in this country that can do your job far better than you ever will. You are only insulting the rest of us and making fools of yourselves acting as though you are any better, any smarter, or any more qualified at what you are doing than a million others are. You were born, you will age, and you will die just like every other person on this earth, why not leave behind a good memory and an unselfish legacy. No one is unaware of the mistakes they have made, each of us knows when we are doing something for the wrong reasons. I hope I can get through to at least a few of you in government before the betrayal of the American people turns to outright treason. Where is your Courage, Commitment, Honor, all those things a leader must possess?

Cap n Trade just another attempt to bankrupt our economy, to make a one world bank and then a one world government only answer. We are vulnerable and seems like we are not a sovereign nation anymore. Obama wants the world to be one, not us. Our separation from the other nations was an expensive endeavor, our success and sovereignty is the envy of the world. I am a lifelong resident of Louisiana who had to move to Texas five years to keep a job in the oil industry. I was born in New Orleans and moved to New Iberia when I was 10. Both my parents worked and they always taught me that a good education and hard work would allow me to get ahead in this world. I went to LSU and USL and got a degree in geology. I’ve worked in the oil and gas industry in New Orleans, Lafayette and now Texas for the last 40 years. I’ve seen both the ups and downs over the years but I’ve never been so fearful for my industry, my home state of Louisiana and my country. The proposed Cap and Trade legislation will gut good paying oil and gas jobs in Louisiana. The jobs we will see go are from the refineries, fabrication shops, oil field service companies, oil companies, ports and related industries. Add to this the income and taxes we will lose will surely bankrupt the state and its people. What will take the place to all those jobs? This bill will target not only high paying jobs it’s going to be like a shot gun, it’s going to take them all. What will happen to towns like Morgan City, Houma, Lake Charles, Lafayette, and New Iberia?
Cap and Trade is not the answer. In the last five years the oil and gas industry has increased American reserves of clean burning natural gas by 65% in the United States. We have figured out how to remove natural gas out of the source rock (the shale where the oil and gas is generated) before we were only able to produce oil and gas from the reservoir rock (where the oil and gas moved to and got trapped). Louisiana is fortunate to have the largest gas shale source rock play in the United States called the Haynesville Shale. The Haynesville Shale covers about 4800 square miles in north and central Louisiana and a part of Texas and holds some 290 trillion cubic feet of recoverable clean natural gas. The federal government recently has published that these proven newly found American clean Gas shale reserves would last more than 100 years These wells are drilled to about 13500’ in a straight hole and then turned ninety degrees and drilled another 5000’and cost on the average of $9 million per well. So far the State of Louisiana has received more than $165 million in tax revenues. It took years of hard work and lots of money to figure out how to get gas out of hard mud but that’s how the American FREE Enterprise works. The catch is you need to drill wells to get that gas out of the ground. Bankrupting oil and gas companies with increased taxes will not help solve the energy problems we have in the United States.
Please for our country, our children and grandchildren vote for Louisiana. Vote NO for cap and trade.
I say AMEN to Art Phillips, you hit the nail right on the head! We have the power to make the correct "CHANGE", and that means a number of people in Washington need to LOSE their jobs. They may think they are royalty (Nancy Peloci), but they are not. Certianly when they do our nation the disservice of cutting our energy availability and then tax the rest.
And another thing. Did I forget about third grade science that told me that CO2 was what plants used to manufacture oxygen for us to breath?!?! What happened to all the earth first people planting trees, plankton in the ocean produces most of the O2 needed anyway.
But IF I listen to the man who invented the internet(Al G.) CO2 is the end of the earth. I do not want to listen to any scientist who might have some actual data ( not politicaly manufactured data).
Which brings me back to politics. When I spend my money I want it to be my money. If I use a credit card it is not my money it is money I borrowed from someone else. Kind of like our current federal budget and bailout proposals!!!! At some time some one will want their money back, WHO will that be? Who will be PAYING it back? Mr. Obama will find a place to hide his money as will Nancy and Harry, but what about my kids?
I will stop now before I ask for someone to fall on their sword in disgrace. OH I forgot we have no more HONOR.

I just read what Mr. Robert Wilson had to say about the posts I made. I very much appreciate his remarks, however, it isn't that I am good at expressing things. It is the fact that I try to tell the truth and I am not impressed with the position a person holds. I am impressed with those who have Honor, a strong since of Duty, Loyalty and morality. I find it discouraging that these values are hard to find in Washington DC. Mr. Gingrich, I have supported your efforts for some time and I believe you hold these values. The one thing I find lacking in just about all politicians is courage. The courage to stand against such fools as Pelosi, Reid, Biden and the most dangerous threat our nation has ever faced Barack Hussien Obama. I can not believe those opposed to him are afraid to challenge him because of race. This government has used race as well as class envy to divide the American people. It would be a sad mistake to think that black Americans are so shallow that they would allow their country to go under because of it. I know there are some with little or no common sense who would, however those I know place their patriotism over race (most I know are military or ex military). There is one other thing that bothers me Mr. Gingrich. Many citizens have devoted a great deal of their time, money and personal property to build organizations dedicated to the protection of our Constitution and freedom. Some of these groups have become very large and well organized much like the one I founded almost a year ago , The Constitutional Guard. We have supported many politicians and national efforts only to be ignored and called names by these same people. When election time rolls around the thousands of members of these organizations will remember. It is time political types show just a little of the courage our military men women and their families do on a daily basis. Show us that Freedom, Liberty, Justice and our Constitution are being protected by politicians with at least a little backbone! Where is the courage!

I too am a PROUD AMERICAN who believes OUR COUNTRY is on the decline do to the government that has no morals or values. 86 percent of this country believes in some sort of GOD yet we let the 14 percent dictate that we cannot use his name in our lives, or on our money. I believe we need to do away with this ELECTORIAL VOTE and instill the POPULOUS VOTE for ALL TYPES of elections. We needed it when the country was large and it was hard for prople to get out to vote or to the poles to vote but it's not that way anymore. I believe we need to set a limit on the amount spent on an election and the amount spent should be telecast on the news everyday so all can see who's out spending who, that way we could actually afford to have more than two parties having a real chance. Please people of AMERICA realise we need to have ENGLISH as the only language in AMERICA and then stop pressing one for ENGLISH. If you need any language other than ENGLISH then you'd have to push another button. Bring the National Anthem back to schools and start every Government Meeting with a Prayer. Make all politians publically show their birth certificate so we know if they are AMERICAN BORN or not. Wake up AMERICA!

I penned this nearly eight years ago. There is available to the American people a source of electrical energy that could ultimately be provided free of charge to all Americans once constructructed. Not American Solutions nor any other forum exists to adequately define this monumental structure. We would require the backbone of men and women who built such things as the Hoover Dam. Have you any idea how much money America spends annually for it's energy? It could be as much as 40% of GDP and easily trillions of dollars. This is the prize America. This is the goal of the Socialist Liberals.
They aim to make American energy as costly as Socialist Europe's. Up until then, Europe cannot compete with the highly efficient American markets. Once the Socialist Liberals make energy as costly in the U.S. as Europe and around the world. they will strike down the American Energy systems and supplant them with European interests and the prize will be theirs. The income from American energy consumption will fuel the new Socialist European Community. You should already detect the interventions of wind power systems which are dominated by the Socialist Europeans. Every American wind turbine field sends nearly a billion dollars to Europeans and European companies.
With our own monumental structures we can eliminate the wind turbine fields and provide free electrically energy to all Americans. The Europeans will stop at nothing to prevent this from happening. Their economies are failing and cannot be revived.
Don't lose sight of the prize America!

Dear Mrs. Murphy,
Thank you for contacting me regarding your thoughts on the climate change legislation which would increase taxes. I appreciate your views, which help inform and guide me in Congress.
The Obama Administration has called for comprehensive legislation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which include carbon dioxide, to address climate change. While there are varying opinions on whether global warming poses a threat to our planet, the bill drafted by Congressmen Henry Waxman and Ed Markey that is being pushed is the single-worst piece of legislation I have seen since arriving in Congress. Referred to as "cap-and-trade" or "cap-and-tax," this bill is the wrong solution for America. In fact, it is not a solution at all.
This bill would result in a tax on anything that emits carbon -- such as coal or gas - which would drive up consumers' and businesses' energy bills. Anyone who flips on a light switch, turns up the thermostat, fills up the gas tank or purchases an American-made product will be forced to pay higher energy bills if this tax increase takes effect; some estimates show that American families could pay as much as $3,000 per year. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimated that such a plan would increase the average household electric bill by $1,600 per year. I do not believe that raising energy prices is the right answer at a time when the American people are hurting and the economy is in recession.
The damage this bill does to our economy won't stop with increasing taxes. American manufacturers who have foreign competitors, like Eastman, could be forced to cut jobs or go out of business altogether because they can't simply pass costs along the increased energy costs. This will especially hurt businesses in states like Tennessee, where much of our electricity is coal-generated through the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), so consumers in our state will pay even more than the average American under this plan.
Instead of pushing their narrow agenda aimed at preventing coal from being used as an energy source, supporters of reducing carbon and greenhouse gas emissions should be incentivizing businesses to reduce emissions themselves. For example, we could easily create a tax deduction for businesses that is based on reduced carbon emissions. I know that businesses will absolutely work to take advantage of that tax credit to improve profitability, and it doesn't penalize consumers. We could also create incentives for nuclear energy, which does not produce greenhouse gases. I urge those on the other side of the aisle to not sacrifice two good-paying American manufacturing jobs to create every one "Green" job.
As my record as Mayor of Johnson City shows, I am a strong advocate for protecting our environment and I support conservation. However, enacting misguided policies like this "cap-and-tax" system can have some serious ramifications on our already struggling economy. At a time when we are all suffering from tough economic circumstances, we cannot afford to enact yet another tax as costly as this one.

THE LAST FOURTH OF JULY
America is my home. As such all Americans are my brothers and sisters and I care about them. They are not black, white or brown, they are my family. Our family is not Democrat or Republican it is American. For many years the Democrat and Republican parties have used party politics to divide us. These modern politicians know that in order to maintain power over us they must keep us at odds with one another. I beg of all my American family to understand that Government is not our friend. Americans must reject these power hungry people and regain control of our nation our Constitution our freedom and liberty. Never before has our government abused our Constitution and robbed us of our rights and freedom as it has in the past 18 years. Now the federal government is in the process of tightening the noose around our necks in an effort to remove all freedom and rule us like a herd of sheep. I can only warn of these things and beg each and every American to wake up and stop the tyranny. Let this government know, in no uncertain terms that “We The People” own this country, not those we elected with our trust and were betrayed. The people of Minnesota were cheated by the election of Al Franken. No state would knowingly have elected a man with such low moral character and glaring lack of intelligence. The Democrat and Republican parties are no longer separate entities. These organizations, along with groups like ACORN, have joined forces to take the electorate process away from us and fire the final shot that will kill our Constitution and freedom. Most Americans have replaced loyalty to each other and their country with party loyalty. This is exactly what the power mongers wanted and it will be the death of freedom if it continues any longer. We must all do what is best for the country and to hell with the politicians and their parties. I, for one, will not be ruled by any man or group of men. You may trust that I will lay down my life before I will lay down my freedom. I wonder how many of my American family will be at my side.
Remember, government must have your money to maintain power over you. Americans must pay attention to what is happening in the congress and senate, we are being betrayed. Global warming is a creation not reality. It was created so that “Cap and Trade” could be passed on your fear. This single legislation will take away most discretionary every American has and place it in the hands of a corrupt congress. When this is followed by Health Reform congressmen and senators WILL have control of every aspect of your and your families lives. However, you will never know what they are doing because they are in the process of controlling what may and may not be broadcast over the airways. When this legislature passes all the bills they are in the process of there will be nothing you can do because you will have NO privacy from the government, no rights and no freedom. Understanding the war on terror, as seen through the eyes of an average American, is a task almost as hard as understanding eternity. Although the two, eternity and fundamental Islam are tied together much like conjoined twins, in the eyes of the fundamental Islamic terrorist there can be no separation short of the death of all those who oppose their concept of eternity. Understanding fundamental Islamic terrorism cannot be taught in a classroom, understood by reading the newspaper, watching CNN, or even by debate on the floor of congress.
Fundamentalist terrorists are, by lack of continuity and organization, the most dangerous enemy ever to walk on the world stage. The fact that their only clearly defined objective is the death of any man, woman or child who does not conform to their system of beliefs makes mute any attempt at reason, negotiation, or compromise. Unlike enemies of the past, this enemy does not desire land, gold, money, or any other material thing. They desire power. The power they desire is not the power to rule or control, the power they seek is the power over life and death and the power to destroy any social organization that creates order in the world. In a word, these terrorists are in a desperate battle to bring about the total collapse of all government world wide, all commercial and social organization, they seek the Apocalypse in the present generation. They want total chaos on earth.
If you go to their land, be it Saudi, Kuwait, Qatar or Iraq and share a meal or drink a cup of coffee with them, the Taliban, Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, etc without a television camera and reporter or tape recorder stuck in their face you will hear a much different dialogue. A very chilling dialogue void of any reference of future, laden with hatred, spite, and disdain for any person or nation that is not totally in compliance with their concept of the world. These terrorists will only stop when there is not enough blood left in one side or the other to sustain the fight. They feel no regret or remorse whatsoever for the blood they shed or even the blood they lose.
Islamic Terrorists need no help recruiting new soldiers. Western nations thru their very behavior do that job for them. Worldwide broadcasts of affluence, decadence, and gross displays of moral decay are only a few of the tools modern societies supply their enemies recruiting effort. Scenes of wealthy tourists flaunting wealth and abundance in places where thousands are literally starving. Vacationing European and American tourists site seeing in foreign lands with no regard for the customs of indigenous people. News broadcasts, aimed at a world of impoverished people, depicting homes with gold plated toilets.
For the moment it is fundamental Islamic terrorists, however the very conditions which bread these terrorists is not likely to end here. The whole world watches now. Technology is taking the same images and attitudes of arrogance and conspicuous wealth into every part of the world. It isn’t likely that fundamental Islam will be the only sect that will turn to violence as a means to their end.
Common sense dictates that not everyone can be wealthy. However, for those with wealth comes power and how that power is used must provide for compassion, morality, and honor, all of which must be exercised with a consistent, just, equal and humble purpose.
This crisis has been decades in the making. The way we Americans behave now and in the future will decide its outcome. Pointing a finger at any individual in or out of government is only an excuse for what generations of Americans and Europeans have created, it is time we learned to “treat others as we want to be treated” or else.
I spent many months in the mid east and I do not justify the actions of our enemy nor do I advocate any sign of weakness toward them. We must win this fight, if we do not we will be handing our enemy one of the largest oil reserves in the world. It does not matter that we would not get that oil. However, it does matter that we would be putting billions of dollars into the hands of those who will never stop trying to seek our destruction, not to mention a strategic position from which to operate. Fifty years of ignorance drew us into this battle, it will take more than a few years to win it. Our enemy truly believes that the average American does not have the courage or the ability to sacrifice as necessary to win.
Americans must put aside the notion that we are democrats or republicans and realize that for now we must be of one mind, Americans, we must be able to show courage and a since of unity to the world. For truly we either stand together as never before or we will surely lose together. The people of the United States have made one thing clear in this election, “senators and congress need to forget the interest groups and place their interest in preserving this nation. Not one person in our government amounts to much if they can do nothing in the few days they actually work. Americans are tired of the showboating and overblown egos in Washington, you are no better than any other American. Do you not realize that there are much more qualified people, not in politics, who could do far better than you. They just simply do not want to go through the humiliation and three ring circus required to get there. Deflate the false egos and show just a little of the backbone our soldiers have past and present. If you only knew how many great solutions to problems were ignored and great problems went undetected because the wrong people would not get the credit. It takes a great man to do great things and not worry about who gets credit for it. Evidently we have none of these men on capitol hill. All we ask is that our representatives put our country first and your, in comparison insignificant ego, last. Please do not tell us that you have, the record is there and it does not lie! You all know what has to be done, if you can’t do it get out! I am absolutely convinced many I know can do better, and yes including myself.
Keep in mind that we have trained and armed a nation, do we walk away and hand that power over to those who would use it to destroy their neighbors and Americans. If anyone thinks the United States and Iran (as it is) can coexist on this earth you are wrong. The only way that could happen would be if the United States accepted the destruction of Israel and endless attacks on US interests worldwide including on American soil. It now appears we should have gone into Iran instead of Iraq. Nothing will change until we deal effectively with Iran, it is the number one source of problems in the mid east.
God bless America, we will need it. We are first Americans, strong, united and unwilling to accept the agenda of any radicals, fundamentalists or liberal mice, or we are nothing!

Raising the cost of energy and goods and services is the wrong thing to do in my state unemployment is high and people are barely making it. It is beyond me why are we are not using our own resources and creating jobs. I have written my senators Richard Burr on several matters and he always responds to me I have written Kay R Hagan and the Speaker of the house and they never respond to my emails or letters. My congressman Howard Coble always responds to me. These people in congress and the senate must realize that more taxes on energy will put more burden on Americans. This bill must not pass. I won't be available for the Thursday night talk unfortunately. Global Warming is a hoax! Obviously many liberals have their money invested in GE, windmills, solar and etc. Doubling wind power from 1% to 2% nationally is a joke! Liberals give billions to "climatologists", many who have no degrees, to keep perpetuating the hoax. Even the news media hasn't done scientific research on the subject. The fact is many SCIENTISTS, with Ph.D's, believe we are heading for an Ice Age. CO2 levels were higher in 1400 than they are today. Could it be they had more cars, factories, etc.. back then? The Scandanavian glaciers began receding about 1750. Some believe periods of high CO2 levels are related to sun spot activity. Of course the Mayians, without telescopes, knew all about sun spot cycles and told us the poles change approximately every 26,000 years; the next is scheduled to occur 12/21/2012.
Anyway, we should drill the oil we have and build nuclear plants, harness Tidal energy and explore new ideas through FREE ENTERPRISE, not goverment.
Thanks to Art Phillips for his American patriotism. All of his letters made me once again feel great to be an American citizen. If Art agrees to this I believe we should all copy his letter to Mr. Obama and send it to him. Maybe if he is fludded with millions of letters he might get the picture.
America needs a stimulus, but not millions of dollars given to the wealthy to keep them rich when they make bad investments, lie, cheat, and steal. Twisting the laws of the land to cover there butts.

WAKE UP AMERICA!!! Quit trying to reason with Washington! They don't care what we think! We must act now! Do you really believe they are going to wait till the next election so that we can vote them out of office? They are going to change the US Constitution and attempt to make us submitt to some type of world authority! Our treasonous leaders know they are in deep trouble with the Americn People! Is Sen. John McCain going to vote for Cap and Trade? He was ignorant enough to say he was supporting this stupid idea when campaigning as the REPUBLICAN candidate. I think he owes all of us that voted for him an apology and he should show some LEADERSHIP and help fight this monstrosity. If we can't get him to support us, what makes us think we have a chance with the so-called moderates (both dems and repubics)?
This whole global warming and climate change hysteria over carbon dioxide (not a pollutant) shows you that some people can't distinguish between the infinitesimal (CO2) and gargantuan forces (H2O - water vapor) in nature. This is why I believe GOD is an engineer first and then a scientist somewhere down the line. Our world is an engineering marvel using physics as necessary, not the other way around.

Thanks to Mr. Phillips for serving our country and fighting for freedom ....Freedom, Freedom that is being destroyed by Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and the whole gang that B. Obama has set to "rule and govern" over us. Barack Obama is a disgrace to America; and indeed may quite possibly not be an American Citizen. It is my understanding that he has failed to provide his birth certificate to prove that he is an American Citizen.
It feels like our elected representatives have disregarded the fact that they work for us instead of against us. It feels that the majority care only about protecting their jobs. Many of them either do not care one little bit about what Americans want; or they are such cowards, they prefer to "go along" with Barack's wishes and betray the very citizens who put them in office. Barack Obama has set about ruining this country, taking away our freedoms, making us a Socialist country as fast as he can. I am 73 years old; and I never thought that the land (America - The land of the Free and the Brave) I grew up in and love so much would become what he is making it. I never thought an American president would go to foreign countries, apologize for America and try to make us European. How dare he! He does not deserve to be our president. As of this last election, we went from an honorable, God-fearing leader (Yes! I mean President George W. Bush), to Barack Obama, a man who seems to hate America and who is ashamed of America. He thinks he must apologize for America. For shame!

I am a little confused regarding tonight's telephone townhall meeting schedule. I have been prepared and ready to go for the stated 7-8pm Eastern Time event, but just now received an automated phone call from Newt stating that I'd missed the event that is supposed to be starting right now.
Did the teleconference time change since my receiving the emailed rsvp, or did I miss something?
Where is the town hall meeting?
Why when I answerd the phone for the town hall, I kept saying hello with no response, then I received a recording that I had missed the call..I wanted to be part of the town hall.
I too received a call like Fred above. I hope this means the call will be rescheduled & I didn't miss it.

I just received a recorded call from Newt saying he was sorry I was not able to join the tele-townhall. I have been waiting for an hour for their call to hook me up. Two days ago I got a confirmation e-mail that confirmed my registration for this meeting. What is going on?

I have this too,plus all the numbers to my representatives, sentators etc. However, I don't think that's enough. 50,000 phone calls a couple of weeks ago...and I ask "that's all?" Only 50,000 people are concerned enough to call? And, who's to say that when their phones do start ringing, they don't pick up their lines, put the lines on park or hold, and presto!!! You get the same "busy" tone.....I really wanted to be on this call tonight, be ever more informed, and take my printed petition door to door.
I waited for the phone call also. It never rang, and I registered in plenty of time. Did it take place, or not? I agree that there should be a access number where we can dial in to a toll free number. There was no number listed to be able to do anything.
For everyone that had problems with the call (did not get it, got dropped, etc) we sincerely apologize.

I'm sorry so many missed the call tonight. It was a fantastic opportunity! The callers were intelligent, well-spoken, and right on point. Speaker Gingrich, as always, was clear and knowledgeable in his answers. I was logging on to say how well it went and that we need many, many more of these forums and we need to use the technology available to us to get our message heard (anyone else signed up through any Obama campaign or White House sites? The email communications are staggering!). I'm sad to hear of the failure of the technology, but hope that it will not discourage those affected. We need everyone to be on board and active!
Thanks, Adam. I for one am certainly not upset or disappointed other than just being disappointed in missing the town hall. I certainly don't hold anyone responsible and appreciate the fact that American Solutions is stepping up to offer all of us solutions and direction in the difficult times our country is facing.
Ellen is right; the current administration has a handle on technology. Organizing for America is a tough opponent, and I am sure they have wealthy benefactors.

I was so disappointed about the town hall meeting on energy last night. I got cut off about 10 minutes into the meeting. Great idea...hope it was informative and beneficial!
An idea would be to uses some VoIP technology such as Skype or GoToMeeting.
The next thing we need to do is: Federalize the Federal Reserve, and rid our government of that influence. Right now we could start by backing Ron Pauls bill To aduit the Federal reserve. Another site With Information that may have prevented our present Econimy: (WWW.worldreport.org) Click on archives And start reading at the bottom To understand just what happened. This will really open your eyes. No morals left in our government!!! If this was not fact they would have been sued by the people named and the site closed.
