President Obama's energy "czar" Carol Browner hinted today that the EPA might implement a cap and trade plan for carbon dioxide emissions even if that type of plan fails in the Senate. In other words, if our elected leaders recognize that enough Americans oppose a cap and trade system and the energy tax is defeated, the government is preparing to impose it on us anyway.Browner said in an interview today, "We also have the reality of EPA, under current law, moving forward...to start the traditional regulatory clock," another less-than-disguised attempt to threaten Congress into passing some form of carbon criminalization bill such as the Waxman-Markey bill or the Senate version of the energy tax. This also comes in the wake of EPA's decision to forego what it knows is best (legislation) by issuing rules for regulating carbon dioxide.
Even more interesting is that the energy czar is actually encouraging well-connected groups and businesses to engage in lobbying. Browner said the credible threat of EPA regulating carbon would "obviously encourage the business community to raise their voices in Congress" in support of the energy tax.
In other words, the government is moving full speed ahead with a plan, regardless of whether our own elected leaders support it. And in the process, they're hoping that businesses will spend millions of dollars in lobbying to support a devastating measure like the Boxer-Kerry energy tax.
Isn't the government supposed to work for us? Or are we too much like teenagers after all?
Ask yourself: "Is this really news to me?"
Think back one year, to before the elections, and ask yourself: "Could I have guessed that the Liberals would attempt a power-grab such as this if we allow them into office?"
Are you really surprised that the Liberals are trying to impose Cap & Trade, even if it doesn't pass through the Senate?
And they very well may succeed in this unconstitutional action.

Its called a dictatorship. At best, its Socialism, at worst, a totalitarian dictatorship.
Does this sound like a stretch to you? If so, I'd bet you are one of those "surprised" people from before.
I'll put it plainly. This "bill" amounts to a takeover of the energy sector. Its like Chavez nationalizing the natural gas industry in Venezuela a few years back.
"Naaaaah!!! That can't beeeee!" you say?
Well, then you might as well not believe that the Government has taken over the Banking industry either.
And don't believe that the Government owns 65% of GM while you are at it.
"Energy? Banking? Automobiles? Why that can't amount to more than 35-40 percent of our GDP! Where's the harm in that?"
"And I KNOW I've been smoking crackrock, because heck, by watching the news, you'd think that the Government is trying to take over Healthcare! And I know that ain't true. That's fully 19 percent of our GDP, and combined with the Energy, Banking, and Automobile industries, its well over 50 percent of our GDP that the Government wants to own/control!"
Open your eyes folks. Obama has appointed 37 Czars to various industries in 7 months. Unelected and Unaccountable Czars. 37 Czars installed by "executive privilege" in 7 months, whereby the recent average has only been 1 or 2 in every 8 years.
I'm not surprised.
