Join Us For a 'Real Jobs Summit'

By Dan Kotman on November 24, 2009 9:39 AM
UPDATE, Dec 3:  Click here for the LIVE stream of the Jackson, Mississippi town hall.

As you probably heard, President Obama will be holding a "Jobs Summit" next week on December 3.  Except that it won't focus on job creation.  So we'll be holding a series of "Real Jobs Summits" across the country to promote real solutions for job creation and economic growth.

The first ones will be next week in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 2 and in Jackson, Mississippi on December 3 -- the day before and the same day as the President's "Jobs Summit."  Additional cities and dates will be announced in 2010.

As the administration actively promotes job-killing health care, energy, and big labor legislation, millions of Americans struggling to find work won't be fooled by the political theater of a "Jobs Summit." Unlike the President's "Jobs Summit" -- which will be held inside the beltway -- we will be traveling the country talking to small business owners and entrepreneurs to get their ideas on how to create jobs and grow the economy.

Both town hall events are free and open to the public.  If you don't live in the area, the Jackson, Miss event will be streamed live on our website.

Please Mr. President, do one thing for us Americans. Take a break. Relax, your agenda is a joke. Everything you do is a failure. The people you handpicked for your Czars are a joke which made your administration the laughing stock of the world. You have 3 more years left to destroy America. Take a break and stay off of TV also. We are tired of hearing, seeing and laughing at you!

Breaking News! Just in:

The United States Constitution has just been found in a dumpster behind the White House. Complete details later!

We need term limits on these people and we need to vote them out of office. We need lower taxes. We need to drill anywhere we can for energy, build nuclear plants, refineries, cut salaries to all the Politicians and cut expenses and pork to get the finances under control. This country is out of control big time! I think it is time the silent majority let our voice heard loud and clear. We also need to make sure we have a strong military but oversight on the expenses to make sure they are in line. If we start doing these things perhaps there is hope that we will once again be strong and have hope that this administration has taken away from us.

In the article, the author states:

"Unlike the President's "Jobs Summit" -- which will be held inside the beltway -- we will be traveling the country talking to small business owners and entrepreneurs to get their ideas on how to create jobs and grow the economy."

I'd like to point out that there are more fine-dining restaurants and swanky hotels across the country than there are "inside the beltway," so that in-and-of-itself is NOT proof that American Solutions gives a darn about what you think.

What IS proof is if they actually DO listen to small business owners and entrepreneurs. Is there a facility on this website which can document each of these supposed and theoretical listening sessions that American Solutions is going to conduct. I want video of an actual A.S. employee listening to some average small business owner!

Most, if not all, politicians have never had to worry about a Profit & Loss statement, and letting go excellent workers in tough times. Obama's invite list for his business summit has no one who is championing funds for small and medium business enterprises. AT&T, Google, FedEx, Siemens, Boeing, etc.. are all great companies but 80% of jobs are within the small and medium businesses....who are not getting one cent of the so called 'Stimulus Package'.

Fox News recently had Lynn Tilton on who is standing up to the current administration and pushing for funds to support companies like ours.

Amen to David Downs" comment!

In addition . . . vote them out EVERY time. I don't care who is running, or who is running against them, VOTE THE INCUMBENT OUT!!!
It may take a few election cycles, but if we can get a majority of citizens to enact term-limits at the ballot box, they should figure out to change their ways when they realize that WE THE PEOPLE are only going to give them one term.
I believe that "public service" will regain it's definition.
God Bless, Micael Grever

Good points, Tater Salad. It should also be noted that the vast majority of the overstated 'jobs created or saved' were not in private industry -- large or small; they were in public sector employment. The bottom line is that the Obama Administration and the present majority party in Congress regard private sector employment as a combination of enforcement targets and ATM machines. When they are not accusing the private sector of abusing workers and breaking the vast array of employment laws, they are proposing to tax us out of existence. As a small business owner who has legitimately created -- with private money, too -- fifteen well-paid, full time professional jobs in our small Virginia county, I worry about the future. But I'll keep on, because fifteen families depend on this business for their livelihoods.

David your right on target. The next Contract with America must include term limits. SC senator is focused on introducing this legislation. Also, Republican party better get it's house in order. The RNC supported one of the most liberal of all candidates in this our 23rd District in NY. Shame on them for putting the screws to the real conservative candidate.

I totally agree with all! However, one thing besides the term limits. When you and I lose our jobs, we lose our hourly wage/salery and have to go on unemployment till we find another job or get a call back. IF we don't get called back an unemployment runs out....you get the picture.Congress and Senate recieve their full pay for life even if they only serve 1 1/2 terms. This goes to their spouses even after they die! We are paying for 5 deep in our district alone!!! This too has to stop! They are no better than we are and when they are out the pay also must be cut off!! WE THE PEOPLE have to pull together and make it stop as well as MAKE them go on the same health care as the rest of have. WE CAN IF WE ALL STICK TOGETHER!!!
