When you ask your boss about Obama/PelosiCare, specifics will be helpful. Here are some key facts about Speaker Nancy Pelosi's Health Care Bill (H.R. 3962) that will be voted on this week.
- According to the Congressional Budget Office this bill "would require individuals to purchase health insurance, starting in 2013, and would in many cases impose a financial penalty on people who did not do so." These fines would lead to an additional $33 billion in new tax revenue.
- According to the CBO, Pelosi's health care bill would still leave "about 18 million
nonelderly residents uninsured" at the end of 2019.
- Any business with a payroll of over $500,000 would be forced to pay up to an 8 percent payroll tax if they are unable to provide their employees with coverage. This will add up to a $135 billion tax increase on U.S. businesses.
- The Joint Commission on Taxation claims corporations in the U.S. would pay an additional $56.4 billion in regulatory taxes.
- The Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT), in its official score of the bill, found that the "surtax" on high-income filers--many of whom are small businesses--imposed in Section 551 would generate nearly half a trillion dollars in revenue--$460.5 billion over ten years. This tax is not indexed for inflation, so more people and small businesses will reach the threshold each year.
- The bill prohibits the reimbursement of over-the-counter pharmaceuticals from Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), Medical Savings Accounts, Flexible Spending Arrangements (FSAs), and Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs), increases the penalties for non-qualified HSA withdrawals from 10 percent to 20 percent, and places a cap on FSA contributions. Because these savings vehicles are tax-preferred, these three provisions would raise taxes by $19.6 billion over ten years, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation. Moreover, because at least 8 million individuals hold insurance policies eligible for HSAs, and millions more participate in FSAs, all these individuals would not be able to keep the coverage they have without facing tax increases.
- The bill also repeals the current-law tax deductibility of subsidies provided to companies offering prescription drug companies to retirees, raising taxes by $3 billion. Many may be concerned that this tax increase would lead to companies dropping their retiree health coverage.
- H.R. 3962 would impose $20 billion in excise taxes on medical devices. Many may echo the concerns of the Congressional Budget Office and other independent experts, who have confirmed that this tax would be passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices--and ultimately higher premiums.
- Thus the total amount of tax increases included in Pelosi's bill--according to official estimates--equals $729.5 billion over ten years.
- Dr. J.D. Foster at the Heritage Foundation claims that a government insurance option like the one included in H.R. 3962 could weaken the dollar saying "Health care reform as currently constructed will either weaken the economy or balloon the deficit while it weakens the economy. In either case, the net result will be to discourage investment into the U.S. economy by foreigner and American alike and add to the multitude of downward pressures on the dollar."

The bill is a joke, Lie number 1.. illegals will be covered because, it is against the US constitution to exclude any group of people, from the the government option. Secondly,Lie number 2. You won't be able to keep your doctor,and your current health care, because, It will be cheaper, for all companies, to discontinue your health care, and just pay the fine. So the fact is, if this bill goes through, You will have to go to the public option. Thirdly, Lie number 3. The liberals are passing this bill under the guise of helping the uninsured, They are passing this bill to suck more tax dollars off of everyone.The more money we give the government, The more they will steel. Were all of this business level (executive level) data is interesting, please boil it down into facts that can be applied to the common working man. Additionally please include as facts how this dramatic switch from a private controlled health care system to a government controlled health care system, will effect the individual rights and choices of the working man.
Where business executives need to understand the financial impact to the business with information of this sort, they also need tools which explain the impact of this legislation on the individuals working for them. Since the majority of voters are working individuals, this will allow business executives to provide information to those voters who will be the most impacted by its passage.
Armed with information that explains the impact this legislation as well as contact information for the working individuals representation, will provide the tools necessary for them to voice their concerns to their representation. The voicing of concern will be effective to the representation as it will spell out specifics which the representation most likely will not be ready or able to answer. Further it will allow the increase of concerns to be voiced, to be greater. There should be an additional caveat, which explains to each working individual that the US government or any government official or officials are forbade by law (18USC 241, 242), to retaliate against any citizen using their 1st amendment right to voice their concerns and opinions. With this knowledge each individual will be able to voice their opinion without the fear of retaliation by the government which now exists.

For the record I downloaded and READ HR3200. First let me say this was the most boaring document I have read since I had to read War and Peace in college. This bill HR3200 has more loop holes than Swiss cheese and an Erector Set combined.

Example I have to take a pill after my open heart bypass that costs $35.00 A PILL, and I have to take on twice a day that is $2100 a month. Than I have to take another pill costing $8.65 a pill twice a day that is $519 per month AND THOSE ARE GENERIC COSTS imagine brand costs. My insurance company pays mega bucks to the Pharmacy a month, but than of course I am paying $276.91 a month in payments. That does not leave much left out of my Social Security.
